The Anzac Daylily, a re-bloomer has a deep velvety red blooms...
The Anzac Daylily image was taken from my flower garden August 19, 2009.About The Anzac DaylilyThe Anzac Daylily, a re-bloomer with huge deep red velvety blooms, perfect for any flowerbed garden design. This daylily blooms all summer long in my flowerbed gardens. When planting daylilies, I try to stagger the bloom times, however the re-blooming daylilies allow for coloring in the garden design all season. I gravitate to re-blooming daylilies with a deeper color. I enjoy the way the reds and purples match with the Salvias and the Yellow Loosestrife . How To Grow The Anzac DaylilyThis re-bloomer is a stunner. Just like other re-bloomers, this daylily rests for a short while then blooms again. I also plant daylilies in among the taller Cosmos. The Anzac features large velvety red flowers with a yellow-green throat. Remove the spent blooms as they make the plant look messy, but that's my preference. Also, once each daylily stem has finished blooming snap off the seed pod but leave the stem to dry out on its own. Once the stem has dried, you can remove. Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
