About The Coleus Annual Bedding Plant
Check out the Colorful Coleus Annual Bedding Plant for shade. Great plants for containers, pots, shade flowerbeds.
How To Grow The Coleus
I plant many varieties of Coleus each year in either my two large ceramic pots in the front of my house or in my back shade gardens. The varieties are endless. Whether I plant the Coleus Kong Mosaic Series or the Coleus Wizard Mix or maybe the Stained Glasswork series , this shade annual does very well for me. (the above image was taken August 27, 2009). The bright and colorful foliage matches perfectly with any Fuchsia variety.
While the its flower is not necessarily a highlight, the foliage is...coming in so many vibrant colors. There are reds, deep purple (almost black), pinks and greens. Now there are varieties that are sun loving Coleus like the Colorblaze Royal Glissade (in the image above).
I particularly like the Fairway Salmon Rose (image below) for their mottled leaves and the red color moving into a green edge.
The two cocoa lined planters that I have settled in the shade look awesome mixed with the Wizard Mix (shown in the image below) and Kong Mosaic.
