Colorblaze Coleus with lime and raspberry coloring adds bright color
About The Colorblaze Coleus Royal GlissadeI must say that the Colorblaze Coleus Royal Glissade is one of my new Coleus favorites. There are so many new varieties that it is hard to choose. This Coleus has jagged moss-green to lime green leaves with raspberry veins. The burgundy toned leaves trap the sunlight and actually cast a pink shade. Beautiful. I could never imagine a Coleus that would tolerate sun and yet here it is. The Royal Glissade will tolerate full sun or part shade. If planted in containers like mine above, make sure to fertilize regularly and don't over water the plants. The stems will get soft. Many gardeners prefer their Coleus without the flowers that rise from the center. Pinch them off if you don't like them. I don't see any difference in the plant's growth if you clip the flowers. As you can see in the image above, this Coleus can get quite large so if planting in containers, take heed and choose the right size container. Companion plants: Fuchsia, the Euphorbia Diamond Frost, Potunia or the Begonia. Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
