The Coral Bells Marmalade...another stunner from the Heuchera family

Coral Bells Marmalade

About The Coral Bells Marmalade

Try planting the evergreen Coral Bells Marmalade with its amber to peach bronze foliage in your next shade garden. This variety of Heuchera selection is a terrific choice for adding a touch of color towards the front of border or mid shade garden.

How To Grow The Coral Bells Marmalade

While I have most of my Coral Bells growing in shade, I do have a few varieties planted in part shade. These perennials are also great for container planting.

Hardy for shade and part shade conditions, the evergreen foliage is shaped like a maple leaf. The blooms, a reddish brown, form in a triangle cluster on top of long slender stems, which rise tall from the center mound. The blooms last for a very long time.

Once the blooms are spent, cut them off at the base of the plant. While this type of deadheading does not result in additional blooms, the Coral Bells does bloom from early spring until late August.

Because the Coral Bells is an evergreen, please remember to mulch cover them for harsh winter conditions. I cover mine with shredded leaves.

I find that the Coral Bells do not like to dry out so make sure to give adequate water.

Please visit these other Coral Bells planted:

  • Coral Bells Lime Ricky
  • Coral Bells Velvet Night
  • Coral Bells Harvest Burgundy
  • Coral Bells Georgia Peach

Some great companions: Ageratum Blue Hawaii, Ageratum Blue Horizon, Ladys Mantle or Brunnera.
