The Euphorbia Diamond Frost...the annual variety of the spruge plant

About The Euphorbia Diamond Frost
The Euphorbia Diamond Frost annual bedding plant grows contonously in mounds with airy tiny white blooms. Introducted in 2005, this annual has become a favorite for many gardeners for container planting (fillers) and hanging baskets. My first try with this annual spruge variety
was planting it in containers along with my Purple African Daisy. The contrast was striking. This annual reminds me of
the perennial Baby's Breath.
How To Grow The Euphorbia Diamond Frost
A garden winner, the Euphorbia Diamond Frost tolerates all soil types and can withstand short dry spells.
While most gardeners plant the Diamond Frost in containers and hanging baskets as a filler, this annual would would well in rock gardens or as an edging plant for any flowerbed
garden design.
I find the mounding growth habit most attractive and as the plant ages, it begins a fluffy, airy trailing habit down the sides of my containers. The Diamond Frost blooms all summer until
frost and really needs no deadheading. If the blooming should slow down, simply shear back (not too much, maybe 3 inches) and it will reward you with re-blooming.
Even though it flowers much more when planted in full sun, it can tolerate a part shade location.
At fall time, this annual can be taken indoors. Just remember to first re-pot in fresh sterilized soil and cover in plastic (clear plastic bag is best) for a few hours to check for outside bugs.
A word of caution: If you have sensitive skin and have issues with milky sap from certain plants, then wear gloves when trimming the Diamond Frost. Like all Spruges, it does emit a milky
white sap when stems are cut.
Companion plants: Ageratum Blue Hawaii, Felicia Daisy,
Nolana, Angelonia,
Scabiosa, or the Verbena.
