The above flowerbed picture shows my south flower garden that receives morning sun and then shade for the afternoon. Unfortunately it's the tall and old oak trees in my neighbors yard that provides all the shade for this flower garden. I am hoping to get permission and give a trim.

At one end of the flowerbed I still have two rather thin old oak trees that also add to the afternoon shade. These two oak trees will be cut down this fall prior to the snow flying. Both, the trim and the tree removals will help bring additional sun to this flowerbed and help dry the soil.

The garden picture below is a perennial and annual flower display of Ajuga, Gallardia, Siberian Larch, Calendula, Purple and White Coneflowers and Dusty Miller. Also taken September 1, 2009.
