The Forget Me Not Victoria Rose with petite pink flowers

About The Forget Me Not Victoria Rose
On this Forget Me Not Victoria Rose page, I will repeat my comments made for the species Indigo Blue.
Where did the name Forget Me Not come from?
Well...legend has it that a medieval knight and his lady-love were walking beside a river. The knight held a bouquet in his hands. Because of the weight of the armor, he fell into the water. As he was drowning, he threw her the bouquet shouting forget-me-not. Interesting, isn't it?
I really like this plant for its compact size, which fits in so well as an edging plant. While the clumping growth habit remains neat and tidy, beware of the insects that can bury themselves within the foliage.
Because this perennial prefers shade (or part shade), make sure that the foliage does not remain wet or too moist as the slender leaves will begin to blacken. Should this happen, you can simply snip off the dark leaves with garden scissors.
This Forget Me Not usually blooms in the spring, however I have had mine bloom well into July.
Great companion plants: Brunnera, Hostas or the Astilbe Koln.
Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
