The Joan Senior Daylily, a re-blooming daylily with near white ruffled flowers and a lime green throat...

About The Joan Senior DaylilyThe Joan Senior Daylily flowers early to mid season and presents a ruffled creamy white 6 inch flower with a hint of green throat. For every garden there is room for this daylily. With single blooms of a near white and with ruffled 6 " across flowers, this easy to grow daylily blooms early to mid season. In a warmer climate the leaves are evergreen, however in the north they do die back. How To Grow The Joan Senior DaylilyLike most re-bloomers, this one rests for a while and then new scapes shoot up and the blooming starts all over. Some say this re-bloomer is not fragrant, but mine does have a faint scent. Because I like my plants looking neat and tidy I tend to cut off any yellowing or dry leaves, but I do leave the scapes (stems) to dry and then I cut them off. When the blooming is completed on each scape, I also snap off the seed pod. I enjoy the sharp color contrast I can achieve with this daylily and the Summer Wine or the shorter Little Business. Even the Purple D' Oro (daughter of Stella) makes a great companion plant. Other great companion plants: Little Business Daylily, Summer Wine Daylily, Phlox David, Phlox Rubymine, Oriental Lily Mona Lisa, Purple Coneflower or the Felicia Daisy as groundcover for around the base of the plant.
