The Little Business Daylily, a dwarf variety with magnificent raspberry red color blooms...
About The Little Business DaylilyThe Little Business Daylily is a dwarf variety offering smaller sized raspberry blooms and darker veins running through a chartreuse throat. This variety is a winner for me in the dwarf daylily category. This re-blooming daylily gives a full flush of 3" blooms on compact 12" to 15" stems, rests for a couple of weeks and then blooms again. In my flower garden design, I planted 2 of these daylilies and they have doubled in size. With a stunning red raspberry color, this dwarf daylily is a welcome addition to any rock garden, container planting or as a garden border or edger plant. In my garden design, My Little Business is planted well among the Stella D' Oro and Stella's sister daylily, Purple D'Oro . I also like planting daylilies with perennials and annuals that bloom continuously throughout the summer like Coreopsis Zagreb and the Coreopsis Moonbeam. Besides the two above mentioned perennials, why not try planting this daylily with the annual Felicia Daisy. The contrasting colors would be stunning and imagine the tiny blue flowers of the Felicia Daisy circling around the red raspberry blooms of the Little Business. Remember to remove the spent flower heads to keep the plant looking tidy. Also snip off the seed head once all flower buds have bloomed. I also cut off the stem once it has dried and turned brown. During the summer months the grass-like leaves can turn yellow or develop yellow tips. I simply cut off the yellow or remove the leaves entirely. Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
