The Monarda Coral Reef offers brilliant pink blooms and a heavenly fragrance

About The Monarda Coral Reef
The Monarda Coral Reef has exceptionally large, tubular hot-pink blooms that have coral overtones. The Coral Reef blooms all summer long and as long as you deadhead the spent blooms, the plant keeps producing more blooms. I will say that after the first flush of flowers, thereafter the stems seem to be a bit weaker.
This Bee Balm is similar to the 'Marshall's Delight' in that it is tough, aromatic and is great for attracting hummingbirds and butterflies.
Also mildew resistant, this bee balm prefers a soil not too wet, otherwise the stems will rot. I find that these plants love full sun but can also exist in a limited part shade.
I prefer having them planted in a full sun location so as to help prevent the leaves from going soft.
Companion plants: Felicia Daisy, the Sedum Dragons Blood, Dusty Miller or the Salvia Victoria Blue.
Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
