About The Nelia Argyranthemum

Try planting the Nelia Argyranthemum, an amazing long blooming, tall, yellow daisy-like annual bedding plant. Did you know that this annual plant is a German introduction to the Marguerite Daisy family? Neither did I.

The Nelia Argyranthemum caught my eye as I strolled through the garden centre looking for additional taller annuals to plant at the ponds edge and by the waterfall. With its buttery yellow blooms, this member of the daisy family does not disappoint!

How To Grow the Nelia Argyranthemum

In warmer climates the Nelia Argyranthemum is considered a tender perennial, but obviously in my Zone 3, I must re-plant every year. No issues with that, as this sun loving annual is a prolific bloomer and the more you deadhead, the more buds appear.

I find that it does have a bit of a fragrance but not strong enough to notice as you walk by.

The bees and butterflies cannot get enough of this Mum and at any given time at least 10 to 15 are landing for a snack.

I have not had any issues with black spot, other pests and it seems to get along well with the pine tree planted close by.

Some great companion plants are: The Coresopsis, Daylilies, Liatris Blazing Star and for around the base of the plant try planting the perennial Ajuga.

Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
