If you're in the Zone...that is 'Zone 5'...try the Pink Supreme Flower Carpet Rose...

Pink Supreme Flower Carpet Rose

The Pink Supreme Flower Carpet Rose.New for the 2008 year. This Carpet Rose boasts vibrant hot pink blooms, which gives the WOW factor in any garden, however, no fragrance.

The Pink Supreme Flower Carpet Rose grows a bit more compact than the Pink Flower Carpet Rose. Grows 24"-32" tall and 40" across.

Pruning to 1/3 its size can be done in late winter or early spring. This Carpet Rose also has the glossy green foliage.

In the image below, this compact bush shows well as a garden border, but would do just as well in container gardening.

The flowers are produced in clusters up to 11 inches across from a single stem. Clusters comprise up to 11 smaller clusters of 5 to 9 flowers and developing buds. Up to 60 flowers and developing buds can be produced on a single stem. Now that's a lot of flowers!

Like the other eight in the series, this bush requires no special care. No deadheading or pruning.

Is disease resistant. Should aphids attack, just spray with insecticidal soap or rinse off with your garden hose.

Water regularly and feed only in the spring.

Add organic matter and make sure there's good drainage. Plant in full sun, however they do tolerate some shade.

In my Zone 3, I will be protecting my bushes for the winter season. These bushes are recommended for a Zone 5 and up. I'm adventurous and will try a bush or two.

Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
