The Salvia Evolution, deep violet blooms for your flowerbed garden
About the Salvia EvolutionPlanting the Salvia Evolution annual bedding plant for immediate, long lasting blooms in vibrant violet. Why not plant this annual for immediate and long lasting blooms in your next flowerbed design. I actually grabbed the Salvia Evolution by mistake in the garden center. I thought I was taking the Salvia Victoria Blue, however I took the Evolution instead. They are really very similar. That's not to say I'm sorry, as the Evolution is a great performer in my garden and it is quite distinct with its deep and tight violet colored spikes. How To Grow The Salvia EvolutionThe Evolution is low maintenance. It does have the same pests as the Victoria Blue, namely the aphids and at times black spot. No deadheading is required but as usual I still snip off the stalks when they become light colored and dry and once established, this annual is quite drought tolerant. Companion plants: Dusty miller, Ageratum, the perennial Scabiosa Butterfly Blue or the Dogwood Shrub makes a great contrast.
