The Sedum Kamschatka. A succulent perennial groundcover with arching stems and fleshy leaves
In the above image the yellow blooming Sedum Kamschatka is surrounding the Sedum Dragon's Blood.About The Sedum KamschatkaThe Sedum Kamschatka is a succulent perennial groundcover with arching stems, fleshy foliage and yellow star shaped flowers. This succulent also offers a great fall color. The stems arch to about 6" and tiny yellow star shaped flowers bloom in clusters. This succulent makes a great groundcover and grows quickly. I can pull off some stems and it re-plants itself with ease. How To Grow The Sedum KamschatkaThis is a true succulent that prefers full, hot, dry sun. It grows well in all soil conditions from sandy to clay and can tolerate drought spells. It does not grow well in wet areas. Plant this trailing perennial where soil erosion is an issue on a slope or in rock gardens. Planting in containers works as well. It blooms in July to late August and when in bloom the tiny yellow flowers attract bees and butterflies, but not rabbits! In some locations, this perennial can be considered semi evergreen, but in my zone 3, the foliage turns black and dies after the first hard frost. Companion plants could be: Sedum Dragons Blood, Sedum Angelina or the Gailardia .
