Spirea Anthony Waterer

About The Spirea Anthony Waterer

The Spirea Anthony Waterer shrub makes a great foundation plant because of its compact size.

The fact that the blooms are long lasting makes it a wonderful shrub for any location in your garden, although it does make sense to plant it closer to the front of the garden becasue of its smaller size.

How To Grow The Spirea Anthony Waterer

This compact shrub prefers full sun, however a part sun location will not harm its growth. Like most shrubs, this Spirea enjoys a handful of bonemeal when planted and it tolerates almost any type of soil. I have mine planted behind my waterfall.

The flowers are a bright pink and the foliage holds a beautiful green with a tinge of bronze red to orange color. It has an upright growth habit, growing to appropriately 4 to 5 feet tall.

Also, the fact that it is rabbit resistant is also a bonus.

Other companion plants: the Dwarf Korean Lilac or the Barberry Shrub.

Check out my Site Index Page for a listing of additional annuals and perennials to plant in your flower garden design.
