The Strawberry Candy Daylily, a great re-bloomer and pink candy color....

Strawberry Candy Daylily

About The Strawberry Candy Daylily

The Strawberry Candy Daylily is a great re-bloomer with huge blooms and a deep pink throat color with soft candy pink ruffled petals. I am always on the lookout for more re-blooming daylilies...and this one caught my eye at the garden center with its huge blooms, ruffled petals and amazing coloring.

The image above, taken from my garden in mid July 2009, shows the darker pink edges and a rose colored red eye circle towards the golden yellow throat.

How To Grow The Strawberry Candy Daylily

I planted this daylily in my middle mounded flower garden, which receives full sun all day. Planted close by is my Ribbon Grass , Purple D' Oro and the Loosestrife Firecracker .

A great re-bloomer, you will notice many blooms throughout the summer. As the long narrow leaves begin to turn brown and simply cut them off to keep the plant looking tidy. Pests seldom bother this daylily and it does survive through dry spells.
