The White Swan Coneflower with it's creamy white flowers has a spot or several in my garden

About The White Swan Coneflower
In my garden, this sun perennial had a slow start in the spring (2009) along with the
Purple Coneflower. Both varieties were given to me by my son-in-law Adam who started them from seed. I planted the seedlings last summer, which makes this summer of 2009 their second year of growing. I muse that these particular coneflowers are the sturdiest, tallest ones I have ever grown.
The White Swan Coneflowers must enjoy their location of sun for most of the day and then part sun thereafter. They are planted close by the Salvia Black and Blue and my Morden Blush Rose.
The White Swan is a bit shorter and less vigorous than the Purple Coneflower and yet the creamy white petals with the orange disk centers will have me buying one more each year for my middle flowerbed garden. Also, they blend in so well with other perennials plants such as the Shasta Daisy Becky and the Double Pink Coneflower.
Although the coneflower is said to be deer resistant, the rabbits love them, so watch out, at least until they grow tall!
This perennial is long lived and makes a great cut flower.
With the exception of the nibbling rabbits, pests do not seem to bother these perennials. Bees and butterflies love them too.
