About The William Baffin Rose

The William Baffin Rose, a hardy climber, comes from the Explorer Series. So named after the Northwest Passage explorer and of whom Baffin Island was named.

Most all rose connoisseurs agree that the William Baffin is just about the best hardy rose climber ever bred! For us living in the northern climates, we thank you.

As rugged and tough as this climbing rose sounds, the blossoms are delicate, semi-double and deep pink with yellow centers. The beautiful flowers are borne in clusters of up to 30 blooms.

While fragrance is not its greatest attribute, the William Baffin blooms profusely from mid June to early July, rests for a while and then sporadically blooms again until frost.

The canes can grow to 10 feet long and can be trained to climb up a trellis. It should be noted that this rose can also be left to grow into a large shrub rose.

One last bit of good news: this rose is resistant to insects, powdery mildew and black spot. Do I need to say more?
